Carol Rising

This painting is a combination of encaustic, photographic image transfer, printed watercolor paper and an i-ching coin. The image transfer is a photograph of my sister blowing a kiss from 1966. She is rising to meet the stars. The background image shows the branches of a tree on a colored night sky. The encaustic wax on the left reminds me of the bark from the trunk of a large tree. For me this part grounds the image.
