Daybreak

10"x20" cradle board with handmade paper, Ceracolor water soluble encaustic paint, and encaustic medium. Middle panel is basswood affixed to main panel with Chicago screws. Middle panel is RF encaustic, and oil paint. Marks were made with various carving tools and kitchen utensils.

Happy Fish

Seasons

12"x12" cradle board with handmade papers, watercolor, RF  paint and encaustic medium—Hand embossed metal in center can move up and down. Found objects are from my personal collection. In this case, the coin is from a garage sale in Buffalo, NY circa 1973.

Manifestation

Golden Spiral

6"x 6" cradle board with handmade papers, water color, RF  paint, and encaustic medium. The center form was made by wetting paper and then drying on a 3-dimensional round surface. Once dry, wax medium was applied and the edges were shaped. Encaustic paint and medium were applied and the object was affixed to the cradle board. The object in the middle is an anemone fossil.

Moon Garden

10" x 10" cradle board with RF encaustic paint and medium. Wax is carved into plant shapes.

Ocean Garden

12" x 12" cradle board with plant shapes swaying underneath swirls of blue and iridescent powders. Small amethyst rocks act as a grounding element in this ocean like painting.

Carol Rising

A 6" x 6" cradle board with multiple image transfers, found objects, wax paint, and medium. Carved marks have been filled in with oil paint. 

Vajrasattva

12" x 12" cradle board with wax paint and medium. An image transfer rests in the center of the Bodhisattva, Vajrasattva in the yab-yum position representing the joining of wisdom and compassion. The colors in this painting represent the colors associated with the 5 Buddha families in Tibetan Buddhism. The symbol on the right is the hum symbol. On the left is the Om symbol.

Milarepa

12" x 12" cradle board with wax paint and medium. In the center is an image transfer of Milarepa. The colors represent the 5 Buddha families in Tibetan Buddhism. Crevices are filled in with oil paint. Metallic foil acts as an ornamentation.
